Hello! As you might already know, two of my cushion designs are for sale on Ohh Deer, as part of their Pillow Fight competition shop! I wanted to give you a heads up that the shop closes in one week (November 11th)! In other words, if you’d like a cushion or two, you’d better move very quickly!
You can buy my cushions here and here.
I bought a set of the cushions to check the quality, and I was really pleased -They’re soft, sturdy, and the colours are nice and rich!
Cushion details: The cushions are made from super-soft faux suede and measure 43x43cm. They come complete with a fibre cushion insert (but to make postage cheaper you can opt to receive the cushion without the insert). The cushions all have a stone coloured back cover and zip fastening. They’re machine washable at 30°c and hand made In UK. They cost £24.95 each. (I already own two, and they’re great quality.)
Here are a couple of close-ups:
About the competition: The winners will become official contributors to the Ohh Deer collective, which is an amazing opportunity! The winners will be chosen based on how popular their cushions are, in terms of sales, but also in terms of how many shares they get on social media. So, even if you can’t buy a cushion, please help me out by sharing them on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter!
I want to give a massive thumbs up to all of you who have supported my competition entries over the last month. Thank you so much!
Hello! I spent a day last week playing with cameras, tripods and video editing software (the latter being a first for me). I really enjoyed styling up my house – and myself – and jumping in front of the video camera! The aim was to create an ‘about me’ video, hence why I went crazy with the colours and bright details. Here are a few stills:
Above: As you can see, the bookshelves behind me are loaded with art books and cook books. I’m guessing you’re not surprised! My house is full of books, and what you can’t see here is the science section and the fiction section. Seriously. (Unfortunately, what you can see is my Argos catalogue. Classy.)
Below: I used my mobile to take a photo of the camera set-up…and later in the day, used my camera to take a picture of my phone! (Confusing? Yes.)
Below: The full backdrop for the shoot. I took some of my favourite objects and art prints form around the flat and piled them onto the shelves. I wanted the backdrop to be bold and cheerful, but I didn’t want it to overwhelm me (which explains my choice to wear super-bright and block-coloured clothing).
Oh, and, here’s a little GIF I made (Yep, that’s me!).
You know what? I’m at my happiest when surrounded by colour.
Hello! I’ve revamped my online store and I have a new set of posters in stock!
If you want something on your wall that oozes colour and good vibes, then you’re in luck! The posters are printed on beautiful, 235gsm satin photo paper with a semi-gloss finish, and come in two sizes (A3 and A2). Check them out here.
Hello! I’ve got a cold. A disgusting, horrible, unwelcome cold. I spent yesterday wrapped in a blanket, popping paracetamol like candy. On the upside, I got a great view of our Christmas tree from my spot on the couch…and so I drew some of our tree decorations. Of course.
Our tree is a 6 foot, ‘champagne’ coloured, tinsel monstrosity. We love it. It’s loaded with decorations, most of them being gifts from family and friends.
What’s on your tree?
Hello! Last week I told you about the Ohh Deer Pillow Fight competition. Since then, there has been an exciting twist:
I’m sorry to get all CAPSy on you, but I had to shout it. See, everyone who submitted a cushion design will have their design put into the Ohh Deer shop for three weeks only. After that, only the best-selling designs will remain in the Ohh Deer shop.
If you’ve always wanted a piece of artiness in your home, now’s your chance! I would love your support, as it would be amazing to see my designs in the main collection by Ohh Deer.
Remember that Christmas is coming up and colourful cushions make great gifts (wink, wink). I understand that not everybody is in the market for a cushion, but I’d really appreciate it if you could help me to spread the word! Tell your friends!
Hello! These are my entries to the Ohh Deer Pillow Fight competition. You can see larger versions on the Ohh Deer site here and here.
I’ve always wanted to design my own range of homewares! A Thefty home would be a colourful one, with doodly faces peering up at you from unexpected places (that came out sounding creepy. Oops). The winners of the competition will have their designs turned into actual cushions, stocked by Ohh Deer. That would be very exciting indeed.
What do you think? Would you put these cushions on your couch?
Hello! Do you remember these animal line-drawings I made in April? I created them for the wedding of two animal biologists. The bride kindly sent me some pictures of my artwork ‘in action’. Doesn’t it all look beautiful? The wedding looked so stylish, yet simple and earthy.
The tables were named after species studied by the bride or groom. This was the red squirrel table.
There was also an aardvark table, a hoopoe table and a hyena table, amongst others!
The King Penguin table. (I love the idea of flowers in jars.)
The table plan, featuring all 13 drawings.
And lastly, the happy couple. Congratulations, guys!
