Hello! This is a weekly feature where I share my photos with you. I carry my camera everywhere, snapping pictures of things that inspire me. Prepare to see lots of colourful and heavily-patterned things through my lens!
I live in London, and the Olympics have been (delightfully) unavoidable for the past few weeks. Here are some Olympic-ish photos, peppered liberally with the usual dose of cake and colour.
Stripes of blue seats at the women’s basketball semi-finals.
Rainbow bottles forming horizontal stripes.
Dazzling lights on the basketball court.
Some equally dazzling pink lemonade bars.
Hello! The Olympics are upon us! I’m not particularly sporty, but I’m definitely feeling excited. As usual, I chose to express my delight through food – this is my version of the Olympic Rings:
This illustration was made for Amelia’s Magazine. You can see the full Olympics round-up post over here.
Hello! Have you heard about the Random Project? In the run-up to the 2012 Olympics, the public has been invited to create hand-made postcards in response to a random keyword they are given. The postcards will then be exhibited in March 2012. I thought it would be fun to take part.
My random word was sport. Now, I’m not the most athletic person in the world, so at first I was stuck. But then I remembered it was about what the word meant to me. And so, I drew a good sport. (I guess that’s what the Olympics are about too.)
This is my favourite one. I like the idea of using a couple of snails to illustrate the idea of ‘sport’. Hee hee.
My initial attempts involved robots, but then I realised I liked snails better.
